Jim Downing is Chief Commercial Officer of LQC Inc. a subsidiary of Luong Quoi Coconut Co., Ltd.He is responsible for sales and market development activities across all product lines and channels served by LQC, Inc.
Jim’s management career started with Price Waterhouse. He was responsible for multi-site operations as the Finance, Administrative and Human Resource Manager. Jim streamlined the sites into one cost center which became one of Price Waterhouse’s most profitable with revenue over $20 million.
Jim became the Director of Administration for Advatex Associates in New York City. Advatex was a publicly traded company and Mr. Downing oversaw all the administration for the New York and Boston offices. Two major projects were company expansion and IT infrastructure.
Jim was hired as the COO of Heinick Apple and Co., an Accounting and Consulting company and President of Flexible Benefits Group, a subsidiary of Heinick Apple. Jim was responsible for the financial and day to day operation of both companies.
After Heinick Apple and Co. Jim became the Managing Director of International Trade Group, an international consulting group in Hudson, Ohio. Jim started the company with an emphasis on international business concentrating on the Vietnamese market. Consulting roles grew from Vietnam to Mexico and domestically in the US.
One of the larger projects was becoming the consultant in charge of Sparta Printing Company’s chapter 11 proceedings. Sparta Printing was a $70 million company at its peak. Jim guided the company through chapter 11 and 7 and was responsible for the first reverse NAFTA project in the state of Illinois, when assets were sold to Grupo Serla, a Mexican company. Jim identified Grupo Serla, negotiated the sale and a large tax credit from the City of Sparta. Mr. Downing became the President of SIPCO, the newly formed company.
Jim was hired by Robert Half International, a $3 billion company to start its financial consulting division, Management Resources in White Plains, NY. Jim’s operational skills produced profitability in year one. He remained in the consulting industry for nine years before starting Hire Authority Staffing in 2009.
In 2015, Hire Authority Staffing combined with Career Connections. Career Connections is a consulting and recruiting company concentrating in the accounting, light industrial and operations of businesses.
Hire Authority Staffing was renamed Hire Authority Staffing and Consulting as business expanded.
2018 Hire Authority Staffing and Consulting (HASC) was engaged by Luong Quoi Coconut, a Vietnamese start up in the US to help develop the infrastructure of the company, policies, procedures, and sales strategy. Jim is currently VP Business Development with LQC. His focus is on sales strategy and fulfilment to strategic planning for the future of the company.
Jim has an MBA from Sacred Heart University and an undergraduate degree from Westminster College.
